Test and development rigs that prove the process before you commit.
Prove the process on a rig before you commit to a production machine. Our rigs log force, position and cycle data, so the decision to scale rests on evidence rather than opinion.

What we build
GSD Automation designs and builds test and development rigs for manufacturers across the island of Ireland. A rig can be a benchtop R&D tool used by one engineer, or a multi-slot end-of-line test station running every shift.
- R&D and process development rigs
- Functional and end-of-line test stations
- Leak test stations, single and multi-slot
- Force, displacement and life (cycle) test rigs
- Data logging of force, position, pressure and cycle count
Development rigs
When a new product or process is still being proved, a development rig lets you run the real operation with real parts and real numbers. We design rigs so the parameters you need to vary are easy to change, and the results are recorded in a form your team can analyse. What you learn on the rig carries straight into the specification for the production machine.
Test stations for production
Production test stations are built for repeatability: a fixed procedure, controlled fixturing, clear pass and fail results and a record of every test. Multi-slot stations let an operator load several parts while others are under test, so the station keeps pace with the line. Leak test, pressure decay, force and functional checks can be combined in one station.
What you receive
Mechanical design, electrical design in SolidWorks Electrical, PLC and HMI programming, build and testing are done in-house. The proposal states the measurement ranges, the data recorded, and the documents you receive at handover. A factory acceptance test with your parts can be arranged before delivery.
Questions we are asked
Can a rig record the test data?+
Yes. Rigs can log force, position, pressure, timing and result per part, to the PLC, a local file or your network, depending on what your quality system needs.
Do you build leak test stations?+
Yes. Single and multi-slot leak test stations using pressure decay or flow methods are a regular part of our work, with fixturing designed for your part and seals.
Can a development rig become the production machine?+
Often the rig proves the method and the production station is a separate build designed for the cycle time. The fixturing and test parameters carry forward, so the production design starts from evidence.
